Scribbly & Still Privacy Notice
Last updated: 28 September 2026

Louise Robertson runs Scribbly & Still.
I take your privacy seriously and aim to be clear about what personal information I collect, why I collect it and what I do with it.
If you have any questions about this notice or about information I hold about you, you can contact me at:
Email: hello@scribblyandstill.co.uk
Website: scribblyandstill.co.uk
What information I may collect
Depending on how you interact with Scribbly & Still, I may collect information such as:
-
your name and contact details;
-
your email address;
-
information you provide when downloading a free resource;
-
enquiries or messages you send to me;
-
booking and payment information;
-
information about a child you register for a class or workshop, including their name, age and emergency contact details;
-
information you choose to provide about a child's health, allergies, additional support or other needs where this is necessary for their safe participation;
-
photography or video permissions;
-
records connected with safeguarding or child protection where necessary;
-
technical information collected by the website, such as cookies, device information or website usage data.
I only ask for information that I need for a clear purpose.

Free guides and resources

If you ask me to send you a free Scribbly & Still resource, such as The Moment Before, I will use the name and email address you provide to send you that resource.

My lawful basis for using this information is my legitimate interest in responding to your request and providing the resource you have asked for.
Requesting a free resource does not automatically add you to my general marketing mailing list.

If you separately choose to receive Scribbly & Still emails, I will use your email address for that purpose based on your consent.

You can withdraw that consent and unsubscribe at any time.

The ICO distinguishes an email someone has actively requested from unsolicited future marketing, so you can send the actual guide without making newsletter signup a condition of receiving it.

Email updates and marketing

I may send occasional emails about Scribbly & Still resources, workshops, classes, events and related ideas where you have chosen to receive them or where another lawful marketing rule applies.

Where I rely on consent, you will be asked to take a clear positive action, such as ticking an unticked box.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in an email or by contacting me.

Consent to receive marketing is optional and is not a condition of receiving a free resource or booking a service.

ICO guidance says electronic-mail consent should be separate, specific, informed and based on a positive action; pre-ticked boxes do not provide valid consent.

If you contact me with a question or enquiry, I will use the information you provide to respond to you and deal with your request.

My lawful basis will normally be legitimate interests or, where your enquiry relates to potentially booking a service, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Workshop and class bookings

If you book a workshop, class or other paid Scribbly & Still service, I may use information about you and, where relevant, your child to:
-
process and administer the booking;
-
communicate with you about the session;
-
manage attendance;
-
contact you in an emergency;
-
provide appropriate support;
-
maintain financial and tax records;
-
fulfil safeguarding and safety responsibilities.

The lawful basis will depend on the information and purpose and may include contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests, vital interests, and where appropriate the additional UK GDPR/DPA 2018 conditions required for health, safeguarding or other special-category information.

We collect more sensitive information only when genuinely needed.
Children's information

Scribbly & Still works with children, so we may need to collect some information about children from parents or carers.

This could include a child's:
-
name and age;
-
emergency contact information;
-
relevant medical information or allergies;
-
communication or additional support needs;
-
authorised collection arrangements;
-
photo/video permissions.
We use this information to help children participate safely and appropriately.

Safeguarding and child-protection information is handled separately and with additional care in accordance with Scribbly & Still's safeguarding and child-protection procedures.
Photographs and video

I will not use an identifiable child's photograph or video for general publicity or social media simply because they attend a Scribbly & Still activity.

I will seek appropriate permission before using identifiable images for promotional purposes.

A child will not be pressured to take part in photographs or filming.

Who may receive your information?

I do not sell personal information.

I may use trusted organisations that help me operate Scribbly & Still, for example:
-
my website provider;
-
email and mailing-list providers;
-
booking or registration systems;
-
payment processors;
-
cloud storage or business software providers;
-
professional advisers where necessary.

These organisations may process information on my behalf.

I may also share information with Police, Social Work, health services, or another appropriate organisation where necessary to protect a child or another person, meet a legal obligation, or respond appropriately to a safeguarding concern.

International processing

Some technology providers may store or process information outside the UK.

Where this happens, I will use providers that have appropriate arrangements in place for international transfers of personal information as required by UK data-protection law.

How long I keep information

I keep personal information only for as long as there is a genuine business, safeguarding or legal reason to do so.

Different information may be retained for different periods.

For example:
-
information used only to deliver a requested free resource will not be kept indefinitely unless there is another reason to retain it;
-
mailing-list information may be kept while you remain subscribed;
-
booking and financial records may need to be retained for tax and accounting purposes;
-
safeguarding records may need to be retained for longer for safeguarding, legal or insurance reasons.

Where someone unsubscribes from marketing, I may retain minimal information on a suppression list so that I can respect their request not to receive further marketing.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights relating to your personal information. These can include the right to:
-
ask what information I hold about you;
-
receive a copy of your information;
-
correct inaccurate information;
-
ask for information to be deleted in certain circumstances;
-
ask for processing to be restricted;
-
object to certain uses of your information;
-
withdraw consent where I rely on consent;
-
ask for certain information to be transferred.

These rights do not apply in exactly the same way in every situation, but you are always welcome to contact me if you have a question about your information.

Cookies

The Scribbly & Still website may use cookies and similar technologies.
Some cookies are necessary for the website to work. Other cookies, such as certain analytics or marketing cookies, should only be used where the appropriate permission has been obtained.

Visitors should be able to choose whether non-essential cookies are used.
ICO guidance says websites must tell people what cookies do and obtain consent before setting cookies that are not exempt/strictly necessary.

Keeping your information secure

I take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including limiting access, using secure systems and passwords, and keeping safeguarding information more restricted than ordinary business information.

If a personal-data breach occurs, I will assess and deal with it in accordance with Scribbly & Still's data-protection procedures.

Questions or complaints

If you are concerned about how I have used your information, please contact me first:
